The board of directors of Nation Media Group PLC (NMG) has announced leadership changes as one of the directors exits the company.
In a statement on Tuesday, October 1, NMG announced the retirement of Leonard Mususa as Director of the company effective October 1, 2024.
Mususa who joined the board in 2015 has served as a member and later Chairman of the audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.
Further, the notice explained that Mususa will be moving to serve as chairman of the Board of Mwananchi Communications Limited in Tanzania.
“In addition to his thought leadership and significant value add to the Board committees and the Board, Leonard has been a most respected and invaluable resource to NMG in Tanzania,
“Where he will continue to serve as chairman of the Board of Mwananchi Communications Limited, pending transition in due course,” the statement read in part.
Also, he has served in various roles including Head of Assurance, Risk and Quality of the PwC Africa Central Region for three years and Head of Risk, Independence and Quality in the PwC East Africa Market area for two years.

Additional Nation Media Group Board Changes
At the same time, the media group has announced the appointment of David Nchimbi as an independent Non-Executive Director effective October 1, 2024.
Nchimbi is currently the Managing Director of Pemandu Associates Limited, a multidisciplinary consulting firm.
Before his appointment, Nchimbi he worked at Deloitte for over 17 years, where he held various senior positions including being the managing partner Deloitte, Tanzania.
Also, he was the leader of the firm’s Financial Services Industry practice across East Africa. He also served as a member of the Deloitte Global Advisory Council between 2017 and 2019.
Nchimbi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Dar es Salaam.

Radio Africa Group Leadership Changes
Radio Africa Group Convergence Director William Pike on Monday, September 30, announced his exit after a 17-year stint at the company.
His exit came shortly after the exit of Patrick Quarcoo who previously served as the Group CEO.
“I have decided to follow our former Group CEO Patrick Quarcoo and retire with effect from October 1, 2024. “This is a sad day for me because I have loved working with you since 2007 as we have built the Star into a well-recognized newspaper and the biggest news website in Kenya,” stated Pike.
