“Leaders have been given the greatest responsibility and privilege to deliver development. But they are clueless, can’t deliver, and instead loot, then take 10 percent to the church for purification,” he wrote.
Another user, Mary Karanja, commented on the video saying, “Stolen money. Shame on them. God will deal with you.”

User Snoopy Kenya added, “Open corruption is back. It’s like June 2024 wasn’t enough.”
Another user, Keen Observer, likened Murkomen’s actions to the Moi regime, which was known for carrying large sums of cash to Harambees.
“Very sad day being a Kenyan. We are back to worse than Moi’s time, which was felt by the real mwananchi,” he wrote.
Ruto Unapologetic About His Church Donations
Murkomen’s donations come at a time when there has been public debate regarding public officials contributing large sum amount of money to religious institutions.
President Wiliam Ruto who has faced public backlash for contributing Ksh 20 million to Jesus Winner Ministry and pledging an additional of Ksh 100 million, on Sunday March 9 said he is unapologetic about his association with the church.

Speaking at the AIC Fellowship Annex in Eldoret, the Head of State said that Kenya is a Christian nation and that he would not shy away from supporting religious institutions.
“This country is a Christian nation that worships the Lord. And we are not ashamed to be identified as Christians. We are unafraid, unashamed, and unapologetic about our faith in God. I believe that the grace of God is enough to transform this country. I am a witness of God’s faithfulness in this country,” he said.
President Ruto’s stance on church donations has contradicted his earlier stance, in which he banned public officials from participating in harambees.
