“Anyone who does this to a police officer should be shot dead. How do you assault a uniformed police officer in this manner? How? Are you even normal? Do you know the role of a police officer?” he posed.
Another User by the name Claire Cesc criticized the man’s actions, referring to him as a thug who does not belong to the society.
“When your opponent retreats and does not respond in a physical fight or challenge, there is no need to assault or attack. Regardless of what the police did, I don’t think he deserved such assault and embarrassment,” she said.
“This man cannot embarrass the government and get away with it. Police officers, like all of us, are vulnerable and can make mistakes, but they are not our enemies; they are fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters.”
Additionally, Masai Mwawira called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to take up the matter and treat it with urgency on behalf of many law abiding and peace-loving Kenyans.
“We’re a Civilized Society. Let whoever did this be literally punished to avoid producing similar “savages!” he said.

Mwawira’s sentiments was supported by another user, Farah Mohamed who said the behavior of assaulting a police officer in this manner is unacceptable adding that he hopes the criminal will be arrested and taken to court.
Assaulted Police Officer Should Have Fought Back
On the other hand, some social media users said the cop should have defended himself after the trainings they undergo or use the authority vested in him.
“Is he an imposter or a policeman, surely? If it is a policeman, then he should be dismissed. How can you be assaulted without any resistance? Whether guilty or not, show your authority! Try that nonsense to me and you will see what happens,” Haberts Meso
Amabdi Rage noted that the officer should have shown some bravery and courage to face the man.
“At least use the rungu in his hand. Even an ordinary civilian shouldn’t take blows without reaction. Nonetheless, the criminal should be arrested immediately,” he stated.
