The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced the sale of motor vehicles and other assorted scrap metals through public auction.
According to the Authority, interested bidders can visit its offices at Likoni Road, Nairobi, Meru, Nakuru and Nyahururu to view the vehicles on sale.
“All interested bidders may view the items from the date of the advert to 22 May 2024 on weekdays during normal working hours to verify all the details for themselves as these are neither warranted by NTSA nor the appointed auctioneer,” NTSA said.
“More details are provided in the Auction Catalogue available at immediate auctioneers, Kenya Post Bank Pension Towers (KPOSB), chambers road, off Murang’a road, 3rd floor suite no. 17 at a cost of Kshs.500/.”
NTSA clarified that all the items are being sold on an AS-IS WHERE IS basis and the sale is subject to a reserve price.
How to Bid
Interested bidders are required to pay a refundable bid number deposit to the Auctioneer that is provided in the auction catalogue.
The bidders will be issued with a bidding number upon payment of the bid number deposit where the number will serve as an entry pass to the auction yard.

“No Bidder Whatsoever Without a Bidding Number and the Auction Catalogue Will be Allowed to the Auction Yard. No Bids will be placed at the Auction Venues and bidding closes on 22″ May 2024 at 5:00p.m,” NTSA said in a notice.
However, the successful bidders must pay a deposit of 10% of the purchase price by close of business of the auction date and the balance within Fourteen (14) calendar days.
Those who fail to pay within the timeframe, according to the notice, will see the 10% deposit and their bid number deposit forfeited, and the items disposed of at the sole discretion of NTSA.
All payments for auction monies will be remitted through e-Citizen or as may be directed by NTSA accountant who will be present in all auction venues.
The purchased items must be collected upon full payment and within 14 days from the date of auction failure to which sold items/vehicles will attract a daily storage fee of Ksh. 1,000/- per day.
Furthermore, unsuccessful bidders will be refunded their bid number deposit by the auctioneer within 7 days after the auction.
The authority said the auction shall adhere to the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA )2015 and especially with respect to preferences and reservations.
