Pastor Ng’ang’a Bans Christians From Using Sheng

Controversial Pastor Ng’ang’a has prohibited Christians from using sheng in his church.

While giving a sermon at his church, Neno Evangelism Centre, the pastor said saved Christians should avoid the language as it is demonic.

Ukishaa okoka iyo Kiswahili cha wakora wakora cha utado manze, (Once you get saved, you refrain from that Kiswahili associated with thugs) those are demons,” said the pastor.

He urged his congregants to speak a language that people can understand as opposed to Sheng which her said belongs to thugs.

In March 2024, the pastor was put on the spot over the parcel of land where his church sits. The land was being probed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over claims that it belonged to the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC).

While appearing before the National Assembly Committee on Lands, Ng’ang’a stated that he bought the land from the government in 2004.

Woes over this parcel of land have been haunting him for a while. In 2020, he was served a letter by the KRC notifying him of the corporation’s intention of reclaiming the land.
