President William Ruto has explained why he never attended the ACK Diocesan 34th anniversary thanksgiving at Kigari Teachers College in Embu and instead opted to attend a service in AIC, Milimani Church Nairobi. This meant that he did not meet Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who graced the Embu event.
“When the senior pastor told me that they had been sent an invitation for this celebration, I told him that I was going to struggle because it was not in my diary,” he explained.
He further went on to add, “My diary indicated that I was committed somewhere else. I have had to negotiate with people in another place because I did not want to miss this celebration.”
The President highlighted that there is truly something to celebrate about Milimani. He then went on to reflect on the humble begins of the Milliamni Church. He compared its current state which he mentioned as being awesome.
He further affirmed that it is a true blessing thus he longed to be part of the great moment of celebration for the 30 years of God’s faithfulness.

Ruto & Gachagua Partition Wall Widens
The partitioning wall between President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua has recently widened. Reflecting back to the recent drama surrounding the DP’s impeachment and the constant avoidance of attempts not to meet with his deputy indicates the jeopardized relationship between the two.
Reports indicated that Ruto was supposed to attend the Embu church event 34th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, October 2024, which he did not. Insiders allege that the President did not want to share a podium with DP Gachagua since the local leaders hinted at his presence prior.
Additionally, the Head of State has remained silent on the impeachment matter aimed at removing his deputy from office. Therefore, if he attended the event, it could have marked the first time he appeared in public and at the same event with his deputy sharing a platform since the impeachment process was conceived.
Even with the lack of official communication regarding the President’s attendance the host Member of Parliament Gitonga Mukunji affirmed that the President was expected to grace the occasion.
