Steve Jacob Maunda, popularly known as Shatta Bway, has left Cape Media Limited, which owns TV 47 and Radio 47 stations.
In a heartfelt message on Saturday, May 4, he thanked his fans, the Shatta Army, for their unwavering support through life’s ups and downs.
“Shatta Generals 6 years ago I switched on a microphone and introduced you to the Shatta Bway, and you guys became family instantly. You’ve been with me through thick and thin, the highs and lows of life. Today I have made another decision. I have officially left Cape Media. I leave with no regrets, only gratitude and a genuine desire to see Cape Media so even higher.
He went ahead and promised his fans that he would be back on the daily radio show.
The journalist added, “You said Shatta get back to daily radio, and I have listened to you, so stay tuned for the next Chapter. You’ll love it.”
Shatta Bway joins Cape Media
His exit from Cape Media comes after he joined the media station in March 2024, after he had left Radio Citizen of Royal Media Services (RMS).
In a statement, the media house revealed that Shatta Bway was joining the station as a show host.
Additionally, they revealed that the TV host would be the company’s new director of projects and strategy.

“Shatta Bway joins Cape Media Limited; he will be the Director, Projects and Strategy for Maybets as well as TV 47 and Radio 47 host,” the statement read.
The former Royal media host had in a past interview revealed that he quit Radio Citizen to raise his children after his wife had passed on in June 2023.

“Where I am at in life, I am making decisions as two parents. I must think like a mother and as a father and I need time with my children. My son is a teenager aged 13 years old, and that is the point a parent is like to lose their children unknowingly,” he shared.

Shatta Bway further revealed that his move was according to his late wife’s pleas to take care of their two children and that he needed to spend more time with them.
“Go home and protect the children, I’m resting,” he recounted his wife’s plea.
“I feel I need time with the children at this moment. I can’t be in a career that will tie me down daily, limiting me from accomplishing what I want to do with my children.”
At RMS, Shatta Bway hosted the Waks Tikitaka show on Radio Citizen, a mid-morning show that aired from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., alongside Q-Tee and DJ Rambo.
