Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has reached out to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta seeking forgiveness for his past utterances against him.
In a video shared on Saturday October 28, Sonko wished Uhuru a belated happy birthday, a day after the former Head of State turned 62.
Further, Sonko showed some of the gifts he bought for the retired President, among them including high end liquor from a shop.
The former Governor arrived at a high-end Liquor store in a majestic GMC truck before proceeding inside to the shop.
He later picked several bottles of alcoholic drinks, among them a drink with a price tag of Ksh210,000.
After minutes of interacting with an attendant in the store, Sonko went on to pay for the drinks at the counter before leaving in his truck accompanied by a green Mercedes car, a Toyota Lexus LX570h.

Sonko turns to Bible for inspiration
In a statement noted that the drinks, a cake, and a card he bought for the former President were meant to reminisce the good old days they shared before their bitter fallout.
Additionally, Sonko said that he had forgiven Uhuru for what he called wrongdoings and persecution meted on him.
Quoting a Bible verse, the controversial politician expressed his intention to leave the past behind in his relationship with Uhuru.

“If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back,” Sonko quoted a Bible verse.
