St. Joseph’s Rapogi Senior School, formerly St. Joseph’s Rapogi Secondary School, is a C1 public boys’ boarding school located in Uriri Sub-county, Migori County, Kenya.
The school is part of the Migori education network and has transitioned into a Senior School, hosting learners in Grades 10, 11, and 12 under the CBC framework.
St. Joseph’s Rapogi Secondary School was established in 1961 by Roman Catholic missionaries and later became a state-owned public school.
The school currently enrolls between 800 and 900 students annually and has a teaching staff of 46.

In 2010, the student population stood at 902, and by 2015 it had increased to approximately 1,500 students.
The school currently has 17 dormitories, each designed to accommodate up to 90 students.
Academically, the school operates a seven-stream system for Forms One to Three, while the Form Four classes are organized into five streams, making a total of 26 classes.
The school follows the Competency-Based Curriculum, where students can choose one of three main pathways. The STEM pathway focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; the Social Sciences focus on Humanities and Business Studies, while Arts & Sports and Visual Arts, alongside Physical Education.

KCSE Performance
The school has maintained a strong performance in the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) exams.
St. Joseph’s Rapogi Boys High School recorded impressive results in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Of the 609 candidates, a significant number scored a mean grade of C+ or higher, qualifying for university admission in 2026.
The grade distribution for the KCSE performance is as follows: 14 candidates obtained an A (plain), 77 scored an A- (minus), 159 earned a B+ (plus), 170 achieved a B (plain), 123 received a B- (minus), 46 attained a C+ (plus), 17 scored a C (plain), and 3 obtained a C- (minus).

The school is among the leading institutions not just in southern Nyanza but across the entire province. Its academic achievements have been consistently impressive.
Notably, the class of 2004 topped the Nyanza provincial rankings, surpassing well-known schools such as Maseno School, Maranda High School, Kanga High School, and St. Mary’s School, Yala.
