Kenya School of Law (KSL) students’ association president, Joshua Okayo has reportedly been released following his abduction on Wednesday June 26.
In a statement, LSK President Faith Odhiambo said that Okayo along with another abductee named Regis Wanjala had been dumped at unknown locations following their abductions.
“We have confirmation that two comrades have been dumped at unknown locations after their abductions,” she said.
Odhiambo revealed that Okayo was found in Murang’a after being taken from his house in Rongai, while Wanjala was discovered in a tea plantation in Ruiru.
“Joshua Okayo was dumped somewhere in Murang’a after being abducted in Rongai on Wednesday.”
“Regis Wanjala who was abducted on the same day was also found dumped in a tea plantation in Ruiru.”

She added that the two were now safe and were receiving medical attention though they remain shaken from the ordeal.
LSK Vows to Seek Justice for the Abductees
The LSK president condemned the abductions, vowing that the organization will seek justice for these “unfortunate actions of police.”
“We shall find recourse for these unfortunate actions of police. Justice be our shield and defender,” said Faith Odhiambo.
This incident comes amid a spate of abductions that have been reported across the country in recent days.
KSL Raises Alarm Over Okayo’s Disappearance
In a statement issued on June 27, KSL management expressed concern over the student leader’s disappearance noting that Okayo had sent a distress message to a classmate before his phone was eventually switched off.
KSL Director Dr. Henry Mutai confirmed Okayo’s disappearance, expressing concern for his well-being and safety given the “prevailing situation in the country.”
“Efforts to trace him have so far not been successful since his phone is switched off. In view of the prevailing situation in the country, we are concerned for his well-being and safety,” said Mutai.

Additionally, Mutai urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward and report to relevant authorities.
“The school requests anyone who may have information regarding his whereabouts to share the same with the relevant authority or to report to the nearest police station, in order to secure his safe return,” Mutai added.
The KSL Student Council Vice President, Faith Ndambuki, also raised concerns over the “arbitrary, unjustified and unlawful arrests and abduction of KSL students.”
“Some of those abducted have subsequently been released from police custody and abandoned in the middle of nowhere. As a result, many of us live in fear of being kidnapped and tortured,” she said.
