Source and Use of the Post on Suspect’s Arrest

The Kenya Times did a deep dive on the post to determine the source and accuracy of the information being circulated online.

A reverse image search indicated that the image had not been previously used and did not match the ones earlier posted by DCI of the two suspects.

Additionally, there was no evidence that the image was taken in Busia County as claimed.

DCI Latest Information on Wells Fargo Heist Suspects

Earlier, the sleuths revealed that they were pursuing two Wells Fargo staff who had earlier in the day made away with Ksh94 million after dumping the company vehicle at Dafarm in South C, Nairobi.

The two were reported to have sneaked the truck out of the company’s Nairobi offices shortly after the moneybox was loaded.

Furthermore, they left behind the police escort car that was waiting to be flagged off.

A report by the company’s Investigations Manager indicated that the vehicle was destined for a bank located at Nairobi’s Kenyatta Avenue, ferrying the Ksh94 million belonging to Quickmart supermarket.

Neither the truck nor the crew members could be traced by the time the company realized what had happened.

“Oblivious that the truck no. KBA 517T they were to escort had snaked away minutes earlier, the armed escort team went to enquire from the management why the loading was taking too long.

“Police in Lang’ata were mobilized to pursue the daring duo, only to trace the empty truck abandoned in South C. A special operations team has since been deployed to pursue the suspects,” DCI stated in part.
