Jubilee Party Secretary General, Jeremiah Kioni, has downplayed claims that the Jubilee Party intends to join the Kenya Kwanza Government, despite former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent meeting with President William Ruto in Gatundu South.
In a media interview with Citizen TV, Kioni clarified that the former President’s discussions with Ruto do not signal an intention to join the government.
“So, we are not talking to you to join the government. We are talking to you because it is necessary for all of us, as Kenyans, to engage with one another for the benefit of all Kenyans,” Kioni said.
Kioni dismisses claims of Jubilee party joining Government
Kioni’s remarks come after public speculation about a possible move by the Jubilee party to join the Kenya Kwanza Government after President Ruto paid a visit to the former President at his home in Gatundu South Constituency.
On his part, President Ruto, while speaking in Wajir on Tuesday, December 10, stated that the main reason he reached out to the former President was to foster unity and national cohesion.
“Let me confirm that going forward it is indeed our place as a country to work together to find a common ground on things that are of national interest to the Republic of Kenya.

It is the reason why I am working with the Former Prime Minister. This is the reason why I have reached out to the former President,” Ruto said.
The recent meeting between the Head of State and the former President has ignited a political discussion, especially with the 2027 general elections just two years away.
Moses Kuria, the Senior Economic Advisor to President Ruto, expressed support for President Ruto’s outreach to the former Head of State.
