Renowned transformational speaker and pastor Robert Burale has officially filed a legal petition against Radio 47 host Alex Mwakideu and his former wife, Rozina Mwakideu, following explosive claims made by the latter during a recent podcast episode. The controversial interview, which aired on Mwakideu’s YouTube channel, has since gone viral and sparked widespread online discourse.
Rozina and Alex, who are siblings, have been named as the first and second defendants, respectively. Court documents seen by The Kenya Times show that Burale has filed an urgent application at the Milimani Chief Magistrate’s Court seeking injunctive relief against Alex Mwakideu.
The application filed on October 8, 2025, not only points to defamation but also demands the removal and restraint of further distribution of the content in question.
Burale is asking the court to compel Mwakideu to pull down the YouTube video uploaded on October 4, 2025, which features an interview with Rozina. He is also seeking Ksh20 million in damages for alleged defamation arising from the interview.
Robert Burale’s demands
The petition further seeks to prohibit the radio presenter and any of his agents from sharing similar content and requests a broader social media injunction to block the further spread of the video and its associated claims.
“That pending the hearing and determination of this application inter partie, an order of injunction be and is hereby granted compelling the defendant/respondent, whether by himself or agents, to forthwith pull down and/or delete each post containing parts/in toto of the contents in the video…and any of its related content,” reads part of the petition.

The petition extends beyond the defendant, seeking an injunction prohibiting all social media users from sharing, reposting, or engaging with the video or any of its contents.
Furthermore, the application demands that Mwakideu and any co-respondents cease all forms of interaction with the defamatory material and issue a formal, unqualified public apology, which must be disseminated widely, including on the “Alex Mwakideu” YouTube channel.
In addition, Burale seeks court orders requiring the defendants to publicly withdraw the statements made in the video, acknowledge them as false, and urge the public to stop sharing or engaging with the video in any form. The demand includes the complete expungement of any downloaded versions of the content.
The petition also calls for a prohibitory injunction against both the defendants and the general public, restraining them from storing, sharing, commenting on, or otherwise interacting with any of the defamatory content concerning Burale.
Burale is seeking general and aggravated damages totaling Ksh20 million, costs of the suit, and any other relief the court deems fit. The suit also references an October 7, 2025, segment on Radio 47, where Mwakideu allegedly distanced himself from some of the statements made during the interview.
Interview
This legal move follows the viral podcast episode in which Rozina, Burale’s ex-wife, gave a raw and emotional account of their brief and troubled marriage.
Speaking to her brother Alex on the AM Podcast, Rozina described her union with Burale as “the darkest moment” of her life and went as far as calling it the “biggest mistake” she has ever made.
“My biggest mistake in life was marrying Robert Burale, and the darkest time in my life was when I was with him,” Rozina said in the interview.
She further claimed that the marriage, which lasted just over a year, was riddled with deception, emotional neglect, and financial strain — including a harrowing moment where she contemplated taking her own life.
“I once held a kitchen knife to my stomach thinking I should just die,” she said, before revealing that it was Burale who found and disarmed her.
Response after allegations
The revelations sparked massive debate across social media platforms, with critics and fans of Burale weighing in. Despite the public pressure, Burale had initially responded with grace and subtle humor. In a viral video, he jokingly said: “Naskia mnataka kuniita podcast, watu wa podcast nyinyi!”

He later issued a brief statement affirming his focus on spiritual growth and personal healing.
“God’s purpose for me still stands — no matter what people say. My focus is on becoming a better man today than I was yesterday.”
Amid speculation that the interview was a coordinated attack on Burale’s character, Alex Mwakideu has publicly denied any ill intent. Speaking on Radio 47’s breakfast show, the host claimed he was unaware of what his sister was about to disclose when she appeared on his podcast.
Alex acknowledged being aware of public allegations against Burale regarding financial misconduct but insisted he had no idea that his own sister had experienced such issues firsthand.
“Niikuwa sijui kila kitu Rozinah aliniambia,” said Alex, distancing himself from accusations of setting up the minister.
He also claimed that Burale himself encouraged him to host Rozina after appearing on the same podcast days before.
