A 42-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after being mobbed as he tried to set his family house on fire.
The man wanted to and kill his family after quarreling with his wife in Githamba, Dagoretti North, Nairobi.
According to a police report, the deceased identified as Boniface Mwenzi was stopped by neighbours and members of the public subjected him to mob justice.
“On seeing that, the neighbors and members of the public subjected him to mob justice. He suffered severe head and hand injuries. He was rushed to the nearby clinic where he received first aid, but he later succumbed to the injuries,” the police report stated.
The body was moved to the City morgue awaiting an autopsy.
Elsewhere, a middle-aged man died on Sunday, September 25, 2022, after hitting a hard object while fighting with another man for unknown reasons.
According to a police report, a fight ensued between the deceased, Mureithi Mumina, and the suspect only identified as Macharia.
“A fight ensued between the deceased Mureithi Mumina and Macharia over an unknown issue. During the fight, Macharia pushed the deceased who fell on his back and hit the head on a hard object,” the police report read in part.
He was rushed to the lens Dispensary before being referred to Mama Lucy Hospital, but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
