Edick Omondi Anyanga who is the Former MP (Member of Parliament) for Nyatike has been disarmed after a shooting incident in the sub-county.
The shooting incident which occurred in Lwanda area, Nyatike Sub County left a resident, nursing a gunshot wound.
Moreover, Migori county police boss Mark Wanjala while confirming the incident stated that the former MP was on his way home when he was accosted by a group of people.
Additionally, the police reported that they will get to the bottom of the matter to pave way for legal action.
“The former MP has recorded a statement with police. We confiscated his firearm as we probe the matter,” Wanjala added.
Meanwhile, Omondi Anyanga claimed that he shot in the air after fearing for his life.
“My life was in danger and I had to protect myself by shooting in the air,” Anyanga said.

Nonetheless, the victim is undergoing treatment at Sori-Lakeside Hospital.
