Babu Owino in 2024 made headlines by telling the University of Nairobi to complete their studies with two degrees, an academic certificate and a marriage certificate. The lawmaker is a proud UON alumnus who bagged his spouse in the same institution.
Apart from studies, higher institutions provide forums where students can interact and socialize. Kenyatta University (KU) is not only recognized for academic excellence but also for its vibrant student culture.
Away from lecture halls, assignments, and examinations, students have developed a strong social life around different spaces where they relax, interact, attend events, and create memorable experiences.

Among the most popular places on campus is the KU Arboretum, a serene green space where students can unwind in a natural setting.

Foods sold around include fries, smokes, soft drinks, ice pops, and fruit palours.
KU Shopping Center: Students visit the area to buy affordable meals, snacks, stationery, and other essentials. The shopping center is also a common meeting point where classmates gather before or after lectures, making it one of the liveliest parts of the university.
