Silent Night
This classic hymn reflects the peace and reverence of the nativity scene, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. It emphasizes the holiness and serenity of that special night.
“Silent Night” was written in 1818 by a young Austrian priest who asked the church organist to compose a melody for the guitar.
The choice of guitar, despite the organist’s limited skill with the instrument, suggests that the church organ was unavailable, possibly due to damage from flooding or mice.
This led to the creation of a simple, touching song that has since become one of the most recorded Christmas carols. An American Episcopal priest is credited with translating the song into English in 1859.

Jingle Bells
Arguably one of the most popular holiday songs, “Jingle Bells” wasn’t originally written for Christmas.
James Lord Pierpont wrote it in the 1850s, initially titled “The One Horse Open Sleigh” as a Thanksgiving song.
However, it gained popularity as a Christmas tune and was renamed “Jingle Bells” in 1857 after revisions to the lyrics and melody.
On December 16, 1965, it became the first song played in outer space when the crew of Gemini 6 played it using bells and a harmonica they had smuggled aboard.
This festive tune celebrates the joy of winter sleigh rides and has become synonymous with Christmas cheer.
O Holy Night
O Holy Night is one of the most well-known Christmas carols reflecting on Jesus’ birth and the redemption of and love for humanity.
The song was originally written by poet and author Placide Cappeau in 1843 in southern France. The music for the song was composed by the prolific French composer and music critic Adolphe Adam, and in 1855, the song was translated from French to English by John Sullivan Dwight.
Near the end of 1843, a church organ in southern France was renovated. Even though Cappeau showed no interest in religion, he was asked by the parish priest to write a Christmas poem, which he did. Shortly thereafter, Adam wrote the music, and the song was first performed in 1857.

Feliz Navidad
A bilingual celebration of Christmas, this song spreads holiday greetings in both Spanish and English, symbolizing unity and joy across cultures.
Feliz Navidad is a very simple song, with just nineteen words in English and Spanish, repeated over a three-minute run time.
Only six of those words are in Spanish: “Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad.” This translates to: “Merry Christmas, prosperous year and happiness.”
The other thirteen words are English: “I wanna wish you a merry Christmas, from the bottom of my heart.”

This song tells the story of a young boy who offers the gift of his music to the newborn King, reflecting themes of humility and heartfelt giving.s.
