NTV has announced a shake-up of Kenya’s prime-time commentary space with the launch of a new weekly current affairs show, “The Last Word”.
The show is set to premiere on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 9:30 PM, in a move likely to rival Citizen TV’s News Gang.
According to an announcement shared by NTV editor James Smart, the show brings together a strong team of respected journalists, including Joe Ageyo, James Smart, Eric Latiff, Zaha Indimuli, and Sharon Momanyi.
Together, they will be breaking down the week’s top stories, tackling tough questions, and giving viewers deep analysis backed by facts and data.
“THE LAST WORD” is set to be the definitive voice in Kenyan commentary, offering a unique blend of data, insight, and truth.
This show aims to set agendas, settle controversies, and provide research, data analysis, and fact-checking for our audience.
“We have an incredible panel of hosts who will bring their expertise and perspectives to the forefront,” the announcement read in part.

What the NTV Show “THE LAST WORD” Will Be About
According to NTV, “THE LAST WORD” will focus on three key things: data, insight, and truth.
The show aims to help viewers make sense of what’s happening in the country by providing clear explanations, fact-checking claims made by leaders, and calling out misinformation.
Unlike other shows that rely mostly on opinions, the show has promised to use verified data to support its discussions.
Additionally, the team will run live polls and encourage feedback from viewers through social media, making the show more interactive.

Where and When to Watch the Show
Each of the five hosts brings their own unique strengths to the table.
