Qatar’s Ministry of Defense has reported that the country was targeted on Wednesday by three cruise missiles launched from Iran.
In a statement on April 1, Qatar’s Ministry of Defense said its forces intercepted two of three cruise missiles launched from Iran, while the third struck a QatarEnergy-leased oil tanker in the country’s territorial waters.
“The Qatari Ministry of Defense announces that the State of Qatar was targeted today, Wednesday, by (3) cruise missiles launched from Iran. Our armed forces, by the grace of God, successfully intercepted two of the cruise missiles, while the third missile struck an oil tanker leased to Qatar Energy in Qatar’s territorial waters,” read part of the statement.
The tanker, which had 21 crew members on board, was safely evacuated with no reported injuries. Authorities coordinated the operation to ensure the crew’s safety.
Further, the ministry confirmed that all necessary procedures were implemented to manage the incident.
At the same time, QatarEnergy confirmed that the Aqua 1 crude oil tanker came under missile attack early this morning in Qatar’s northern territorial waters.
The company said no crew members were injured, and no environmental damage resulted from the incident.

Qatar Reports Heavy Damage at Ras Laffan Gas Facility
This comes after Qatar, on March 18, reported significant damage at its key gas hub in Ras Laffan Industrial City following missile strikes attributed to Iran.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack sparked fires within the facility, leading to substantial damage.
The Qatari government condemned the strike, describing it as a serious escalation targeting critical energy infrastructure.
“The State of Qatar expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the blatant Iranian attack targeting Ras Laffan Industrial City,” read part of the statement.

Iranian Drones Hit Kuwait Airport Fuel Tanks
Additionally, drones launched from Iran have struck fuel storage tanks at Kuwait International Airport, triggering a large fire, as regional tensions linked to the ongoing United States–Israel conflict with Iran enter a fifth week.
Kuwait’s General Directorate of Civil Aviation, on April 1, through spokesperson Abdullah al-Rajhi, confirmed that the airport was targeted by drones attributed to Iran and allied armed groups.
The attack struck fuel tanks at the airport, sparking fire.
Emergency response teams were deployed to contain the fire, with authorities confirming that the damage was limited to property and no injuries were reported.
In neighboring Bahrain, the Ministry of Interior reported a separate incident in which civil defense teams were working to put out a fire at a company facility linked to what it described as Iranian aggression.
