Iran’s Natanz nuclear enrichment facility was targeted in a new air attack allegedly carried out by the United States and Israel.

According to a report by Iran’s Tasnim news agency, on March 21, no radioactive leakage was detected at the site, and there was no immediate danger to residents in the surrounding areas.

“No leakage of radioactive materials has been reported in this complex, and no danger threatens the residents of the areas surrounding this site,” the Agency report said.

Natanz has previously been a target, having been hit in an earlier reported US-Israeli strike on March 2.

Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization confirmed that the Shahid Ahmadi Roshan enrichment facility in Natanz was among the sites hit in what it termed a series of criminal strikes attributed to the United States and Israel.

The agency argued that the attack contravenes international obligations, citing breaches of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) as well as established nuclear safety standards.

It further stated that experts from the country’s Nuclear Safety System Centre carried out technical evaluations to determine whether the strike caused any radioactive contamination at the facility.

US-Iran Attack Leaves Child and Parents Dead

According to Iran’s Mazandaran province Governor Mehdi Younesi Rostami, a residential house in Ramsar, a coastal city on the Caspian Sea, was struck in a reported US-Israeli air attack.

The overnight strike resulted in the deaths of a couple and their child.

He condemned the incident as an attack on civilians, noting that such actions are likely to strengthen national unity rather than weaken it.

“Targeting defenseless citizens reflects the peak of helplessness and helplessness of the perpetrators of this attack,” he said.

Iran Retains ‘No Ceasefire’

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has reiterated that a ceasefire alone would not be enough to end the conflict.

In an interview with Kyodo News, Araghchi said Tehran views the war as one imposed on the country, noting that the escalation occurred while Iran was still engaged in negotiations with Washington.

He described the attacks as unlawful and unjustified, and said Iran’s response is based on self-defense.

The minister added that Iran intends to continue defending itself for as long as necessary, stressing that any resolution must go beyond a temporary halt in fighting.
