The Ministry of East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development, through the State Department of East African Community (SDEAC), has announced a public auction for unserviceable stores and motor vehicles.

In an auction notice on March 31, by the SDEAC, the prices for the auction items range from as low as Ksh 150 to Ksh 70,000.

Viewing of the auction items will be conducted on Wednesday, April 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to allow bidders to verify the details of the items.

“Viewing of the disposal items will be done on Wednesday, 08th April 2026, in the location specified in the table between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm, to allow prospective bidders to verify the details,” part of the notice read.

The State Department of Roads, in the Mechanical and Transport Division Parking yard located on Machakos Road, Industrial Area, Nairobi, will conduct the public auction on April 15, starting at 10:00 am.

According to SDEAC, all sales of vehicle parts shall be made based on ‘AS-IS-WHERE-IS’.

Interested bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit of 10% of the reserve price, as indicated in the catalogue, for each motor vehicle part to obtain a bidding number in accordance with the auction notice.

The deposit for the items starts at Ksh 15 for TV stands and goes up to Ksh 7,000 for 4-drawer filing cabinets.

All deposits shall be paid in the form of cash at the Cash Office of the State Department of the East African Community, located on the 16th Floor of the Co-operative House Building, along Haile Selassie Avenue, Nairobi.

Bidders are advised to make their deposit during normal working hours from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Failure to make full payment of the initial deposit will result in the forfeiture of the deposit, and the item will be offered to the second-highest bidder.
