The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has officially begun Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) across the country.
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by Articles 83 and 88 (4) (a) and (b) of the Constitution of Kenya, sections 5, 7 and 8 (1), (2) (a)-(b) of the Elections Act, 2011 and Regulation 6 of the Elections (Registration of Voters) Regulations, 2012 the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission gives notice that there shall be enhanced continuous voter registration of voters from Monday, 30th March, 2026 to Tuesday, 28th April, 2026,” the gazette notice read.
This initiative allows eligible citizens to register as new voters, update their details, or transfer registration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
During the ECVR period, registration will be conducted across multiple locations, including County Assembly Wards on a rotational basis, Constituency Offices, Huduma Centres, Institutions of Higher Learning, and the IEBC Customer Experience Center at Anniversary Towers.
IEBC has also stated that registration services will be available daily, from Monday to Sunday.
Eligible participants must be Kenyan citizens aged 18 years and above and must present a valid Kenyan National Identity Card and Passport.
Areas currently holding By-Elections or subject to ongoing election petitions will not conduct registration or revisions during this period.
