The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has announced that 53 vessels are expected to dock at the Ports of Mombasa and Lamu over 14 days.
The arrivals include container ships, oil tankers, car carriers, bulk carriers, and general cargo vessels.
KPA has revealed that vessels are scheduled to discharge and load a range of cargo, including petroleum products, vehicles, wheat, coal, fertilizers, clinker, steel coils, palm oil, and other industrial goods.
The new shipment comes after KPA announced on April 15 that 49 cargo vessels were to dock at the ports of Mombasa and Lamu .
Vessel Traffic Overview at Mombasa and Lamu Ports
The vessel schedule shows consistent activity at both the Port of Mombasa and the Port of Lamu, with Mombasa handling the bulk of the traffic due to its established infrastructure and high container throughput capacity.

Port Distribution and Operations
The Port of Mombasa remains the central hub for vessel operations serving the landlocked countries of East Africa, handling most of the container traffic, vehicle imports, and bulk cargo shipments.
Its established infrastructure enables it to process a high volume of diversified cargo efficiently.
The Port of Lamu, while receiving fewer vessel calls, handles container and bulk shipments, contributing to Kenya’s maritime expansion strategy and regional connectivity under the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) corridor.
