Murder suspect linked to Dr Victoria Mutiso, Rose Mbithe Mulwa has claimed that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua wanted to take control of her party in 2024, alleging that it could have been used to overturn President William Ruto’s government.
Mbithe made the claims on August 25, while speaking about her political history amid the ongoing case surrounding the killing of Dr Mutiso. She also claimed that Wiper was formed in her Karen office and that she raised KSh40 million for the party.
Rose Mbithe Claims Gachagua Wanted Her Party
Mbithe claimed that in 2024, an individual sent by Gachagua visited her office in Karen and asked her to surrender her political party to the then Deputy President.
According to Mbithe, she rejected the request because she feared that giving a sitting Deputy President control of the party could allow him to use it against the government.

She further claimed that Gachagua was her neighbor in Karen and that she rejected approaches from other political groups.
Mbithe said that after declaring her intention to become a presidential aspirant, Wiper officials approached her and asked her to work with them. She said she declined, insisting that she would remain with her own party and pursue her presidential ambitions.
“The thing is, 2024, by that time, the deputy president, he sent a sovereign man called Kemani to come to my office in Karen and they were asking, they told me they were sending Gachagua to come and take my and give them my political party so that he can have a political party running my party. And he is the one who manages my party. He said we can’t give a political party to someone who is already a deputy president,” said Mulwa
Mbithe Claims Wiper Was Formed in Her Office
Mbithe also claimed she played a major role in forming the Wiper party, saying the party was established while its officials were operating from her Karen office.
She also claimed she helped create the party’s umbrella symbol, saying it represented her desire to bring Kenyans together under one political platform.
“It was formed in my office. The umbrella, I’m the one who drew that umbrella. I told them I want Kenyans to be under one umbrella. I managed to raise for them Ksh 40 million for Wiper,” she said.
She added that she raised KSh40 million for Wiper party formation.
The Ongoing Dr Mutiso Murder Case
The political claims come as Mbithe faces murder charges in connection with the killing of clinical psychologist Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso.

Dr Mutiso was shot dead in Nairobi’s Upper Hill area on July 29. DCI arrested Mbithe and her two children, Chris Mulwa and Angela Mulwa, as part of investigations into the killing.
The case has also been linked by investigators to a longstanding property dispute involving Mbithe, her former husband Professor David Musyimi Ndetei and Dr Mutiso. The investigation has examined whether the murder was connected to the dispute and the circumstances surrounding the property.
Director of Public Prosecutions approved murder charges against the three suspects, and they are expected to be presented before the High Court to take plea on August 27.
Mbithe has maintained her innocence and has disputed allegations surrounding the murder. Her latest remarks also touched on the property dispute, with the suspect accusing unnamed individuals of using money and political influence to target her and others involved in the case.
She urged the media to investigate all sides of the dispute instead of relying on one account, saying the allegations against her should be verified.
