With only 8 days left to the August 9 elections, Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed the existence of deep state.
The Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate said that the deep state is empty rhetoric.
Speaking in Eldoret, Ruto said he knows that the so-called deep state or system does not exist.
He added that he has been deputy president for the last 10 years and knows what he is saying.
The DP called on his main opponent Raila Odinga not to bank on help from the deep state or system
He noted that it is the people of Kenya who will vote and decide.
At the same time, Ruto accused Raila of allegedly blocking him from going to campaign in the Nyanza region
He alleged that Raila fears that the people of Nyanza will buy into their Kenya Kwanza agenda.
He however assured the people of Nyanza that if elected president he will work with them
“We will work with the people of every part of Kenya,”.
“It is unfortunate that we cannot go to Nyanza because our friend who pretends to be a democrat cannot allow anyone to go there,” he added.
The DP said Raila had already sensed defeat and asked him to be ready to go home with Uhuru
