Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says that Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o belongs to the majority side.
Speaking during the groundbreaking of the Starehe Affordable Housing project, Gachagua said the ODM MP now supports the government.
“Huyu Jalang’o ni wetu, baada ya kukutana na rais wetu William Ruto kule State House kwa mambo maendeleo, alifukuzwa kwa mkutano,” he said.
Jalang’o was among nine ODM legislators who visited President William Ruto at State House and have since been supporting government projects.
The nine lawmakers have since been on the receiving end after being accused of betraying their party and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The ODM party said that the meeting between Ruto and the MPs was for personal gain.

However, the MPs defended their association with Ruto saying it was meant to push for development for the people who elected them.
ODM had initiated disciplinary proceedings against the nine but party leader Raila Odinga recently said he had intervened to save them from being expelled from the party.
Pressure has been piling on ODM MPs associating with the majority side to resign and seek fresh mandate from the people under the UDA party.
