Thousands of Palestinians have fled Gaza City in recent days, as Israeli forces prepare to intensify their major offensive against Hamas.
At least 70 people were killed in Gaza over the past 24 hours, drawing criticism from Qatar’s Prime Minister, who denounced Israel for “state terrorism.”
According to Israeli military figures, more than 200,000 Palestinians have fled Gaza City in recent weeks as Israel presses ahead with a major offensive against Hamas.
However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has maintained that his government will act solely in its own interests, defying pressure from rights groups and foreign governments.
Qatar PM Breaks Silence
Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani accused Israel of extinguishing hopes for the release of Gaza hostages after an unprecedented strike in Doha targeting Hamas leaders.
Speaking to CNN on Wednesday, September 10, Sheikh Mohammed said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be brought to justice for the attack.
“What Netanyahu did yesterday, he just killed any hope for those hostages,” he said.

The prime minister added that Doha is now reassessing everything about its role in future ceasefire talks and has begun consultations with Washington on next steps.
The strike, which came only three months after Iran’s retaliatory attack on a US airbase in Qatar, has thrown renewed doubt over Qatar’s mediation efforts in Gaza and shaken confidence in Washington’s security assurances to the Gulf state.

Rights Groups Condemn Israel
Meanwhile, aid agencies warn that mass displacement, widespread hunger, and the destruction of Gaza’s main urban center are pushing the enclave closer to humanitarian collapse.
Amnesty International said the latest expulsion order, which could affect up to one million residents, threatens the very survival of Gaza’s historic heart.
Heba Morayef, Amnesty’s regional director for the Middle East and North Africa, said, “Gaza City is now facing complete obliteration.”
The group accused Israel of carrying out a campaign to physically destroy Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and urged governments to stop supplying arms that risk complicity in what it called genocide.
World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said the agency and its partners will remain in Gaza City despite Israeli military orders to evacuate.
In a statement on September 10, Tedros condemned the directive requiring around one million residents to move south into a designated “humanitarian zone.”
Tedros stressed that nearly half of Gaza’s functional hospitals are located in Gaza City, making the evacuation order particularly dangerous for civilians in need of medical care.
