Former Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Director Francis Ndegwa Muhoro has publicly mourned his son, Clive Muhoro Ndegwa, who died suddenly.
According to an obituary published on September 16, Clive died on September 9 at the age of 27.
“It is with deep sorrow and God’s humble acceptance that we announce the sudden death of Clive Muhoro Ndegwa, which occurred on 9th September 2026,” read part of the statement.
Burial Arrangements
A requiem Mass for Clive will be held at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Don Bosco, Upper Hill, at 2 pm on Wednesday, September 16.
The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home at 6 am on Saturday, September 19, before proceeding to a requiem Mass and later burial at the family farm in BBC Village, Biashara Ward, Naivasha East Location, Naivasha Sub-county, Nakuru County.
Relatives and friends have been meeting daily at the family home in Riverside, Nairobi, and at the Public Service Club from 5:30 pm.

Family Background of Clive Muhoro Ndengwa
Born on January 15, 1999, Clive was the son of Muhoro and Damaris Kagendo Ndegwa. He was the brother of Cynthia Muthoni Ndegwa and Gift Edwin Kori.
He came from an extended family with roots in Murungurune, Meru County, where his grandparents included the late Bernard Muhoro and Veronica Muthoni Muhoro, as well as James Mugo Manyara and Dorcas Wangui Mugo.
Clive Muhoro was also a cousin to Ivy Muthoni, Lewis Muhoro, Stephanie Njeri, Bernard Muhoro, Veronica Muthoni, June Wangui, Lynet Muthoni, Lewis Munene, Flavia Wangui, Clyde Munene, Levant Murimi and Mariam Wangui.
Further, Clive Muhoro’s uncles and aunts included Newton Muinami, the late Margaret Kariuki, the late George Njogu, Mary Wanjiru, Samuel Ngugi, the late Beth Wanjiku, Ann Nyambutu, Alice Wangari, Eunice Njambi, Moses Kamau, Simon Mburu, Eric Kimathi, Carol Wanjiku and David Maina, among others.

Who is Ndegwa Muhoro?
Francis Ndegwa Muhoro is a former Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who served at the helm of Kenya’s criminal investigations agency for more than seven years.
Muhoro was appointed to lead the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), which was later renamed the DCI, in 2010.
He served until January 2018, when he handed over to the former DCI chief George Kinoti.
After leaving the DCI, Muhoro joined Kenya’s diplomatic service. In June 2018, he was appointed Kenya’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, a position he held before his retirement.
Muhoro holds a Master’s degree in International Studies from Moi University.
