Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Leaders have said today’s demonstrations are just a rehearsal of what is to come.
The opposition leaders told President William Ruto’s administration to prepare for fiery protests in the coming days.
Moreover, the leaders stated that Azimio coalition leader Raila Odinga will lead the protests despite efforts by police officers to disrupt the demonstration in various parts of the country.
Likewise, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna while addressing the media criticized the police for provoking their supporters and interfering with the peaceful demonstrations.
“We are on a health break, in the afternoon we will be having phase two of the demonstration because we will never be cowed,” Sifuna said.
“We will be issuing directions on future maandamanos because we must be allowed to conduct our mandate as the minority and the leadership in this country,” he added.
Similarly, Kasipul Kabondo Member of Parliament Lilian Gogo scoffed at the police officers for disrupting the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition protest, adding that they will not relent on their cause for change.
The legislators also demanded for the release of Minority Leader of both houses Opiyo Wandayi (National Assembly) and Stewart Madzayo (Senate) and Kilifi South MP Ken Chonga.

Nonetheless, Kitui Senator Enock Wambua stated that police officers disrupting the protests has paved the way for Azimio coalition to stage more demonstrations in the country until the government heeded their plea.
“Police have taken it upon themselves to disrupt very peaceful demonstrations. I want to make it very clear that this week or next week we shall be at it again until they listen to what Kenyans are saying,” Wambua stated.
In addition, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino while addressing journalists claimed that some of their supporters have been injured and maimed in the demonstrations.
“As we speak somebody has been shot at Jacaranda and two people killed at Kibra. Ruto, you talked about not using and misusing police officers but what are we seeing? This is just the beginning, we shall not relent,” said Owino
