Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has said the names of influential politicians and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) accused of sponsoring anti-government protests will be revealed soon.
In a media interview on Wednesday July 3, Duale disclosed that the government was compiling a list and would make it public within 10 to 14 days.
“One of the media houses said that the internal security system in our country has already profiled individuals, certain politicians, businessmen and NGOs.
In 10 days or two weeks, they will be arraigned in court. We will not allow the destructions of properties and deaths that took place to reoccur,” Duale noted.
Individuals Accused of Hirings Goons
Six politicians are said to be the financiers where three are from Nairobi, two from Central Kenya, and one from the Rift Valley region.
Additionally, a businessman and two NGOs are also under police radar for their involvement.

The politicians, NGOs, and businessman are accused of mobilizing youths from various slums, providing them with cash handouts and instructions to escalate the protests into violence.
Under the suspects’ direction, these individuals were to infiltrate peaceful demonstrations and turn unarmed protesters violent.
Duale on Ruto Must Go Slogan
The CS also alleged that the Gen Z protesters are not the ones behind the ‘Ruto must go!’ slogan that recently dominated anti-government demonstrations
He said that opposition leaders are the one sponsoring the campaign for President William Ruto to step down.

He claimed that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, and outspoken lawyer Miguna Miguna are the ones responsible for the slogan.
“Ruto must go slogan is not a Gen Z slogan… it is Kalonzo Musyoka, it is Kioni, it is Miguna. It is a traditional cabal group of people who are not Gen Zs, who have not recovered and who cannot wait for 2027,” he said.
“Those are words that are coming from those who should occupy their places in the opposition, traditional people who never voted for Ruto and we respect their views, but Ruto is the President today.”
Duale argued that the said leaders are banking on the chance that Azimio la Umoja’s leader, Raila Odinga, will assume the position of Chairperson of the African Union Commission, thereby leaving a vacancy for them in the opposition.
“They even feel that since Baba is going to AU, they don’t have a chance in 2027 and in their wildest dreams, they feel there is a shortcut to change William Ruto. The Constitution 2010 does not envisage that, you cannot even tell an MCA that he must go,” Duale stated.
