Former Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua has hinted at plans by President William Ruto and DP Kithure Kindiki to move Kiambu and Meru counties out of the Mt. Kenya region.
Speaking on Sunday, August 31, Gachagua stated that Ruto has been holding meetings with a section of residents from the two counties to persuade them to support his second bid.
Gachagua said the State House has become the epicentre of corruption, with each of the attendants receiving Ksh10,000 to support the President.
He claimed the first meeting was with residents of Kiambu who took the cash but still retained their stance against Ruto.
The State House is the place for corruption and bribery. Five thousand people from Kiambu were taken there. Each one of them was given a KSh 10,000 bribe so that they could separate Kiambu County from the Mt. Kenya region. They took the money and went home singing ‘one term.
Moving Meru County
Gachagua said the second group to be invited to the State House in Nairobi was a section of residents from Meru County.
He alleged that each of the attendees also received Ksh10,000 to support the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Additionally, Gachagua stated that there are plans to relocate Meru County from the Mt. Kenya region to Marsabit and Isiolo.
After that, they invited people from Meru. Each one of them also got Ksh10,000 so that they can move from Meru, Mt. Kenya, to Marsabit and Isiolo.
Gachagua stated that corruption is now occurring at State House in broad daylight.

Gachagua Aks Kenyans to Take the Money
He asked the President to invite residents of Kajiado County to receive the Ksh10,000 just like their colleagues from Kiambu and Meru.
He asked Kenyans to take the money when they are offered, but warned them against following the directions given by government officials dishing out the money.
I told people to take the money because it is not a debt, and it does not have a receipt. But it will be a mistake to take such bribe and do as you are told. Taking that money and refusing to do as they tell you is not a sin. It is only a sin if you do as you are told.

SHA ‘Fraud’
Gachagua also criticized the government over the ongoing confusion in the Social Health Authority (SHA).
He accused Health CS Aden Duale of overseeing the disbursement of claims to nonexistent hospitals, yet genuine healthcare facilities do not receive funds.
“We are in shock that SHA money is being sent to hospitals that don’t exist, yet mission hospitals are not receiving money. Duale then says they will shut down all those hospitals. How do you shut down hospitals that don’t exist?” Gachagu asked
Gachagua was speaking during a Church Service at PCEA Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County.
