Kiharu Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro has remained silent on the impeachment of former Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua.
Political Analyst Herman Manyora suggested that President William Ruto might be grooming Nyoro to succeed Gachagua.
In an interview on November 3, Manyora defended Nyoro, asserting that he had done nothing wrong. He advised the President to let Nyoro continue as Chairman of the Budget and Appropriation Committee and to refrain from interfering in his political career.
According to Manyora, the President and his allies might begin attacking Nyoro to elevate his profile in national politics.
“What has Nyoro done? Nothing. They should leave him alone, or they can take his job. Or maybe this is even a strategy to grow him; this is politics. Just appear like you’re attacking so that his name can rise,” Manyora said.
He explained that Ruto needs a prominent figure from Mount Kenya to rally the region behind him.
Manyora argued that Nyoro is a strong candidate for the role since he hails from Murang’a County, which has never produced a head of state.
“In the Kikuyu power struggles, Murang’a has not produced a president, and Nyoro is young, eloquent, and has a lot going for him. So, if you refine him properly and, in the process, you deliberately ‘burn’ him,” Manyora commented.
The analyst predicted that Gachagua would resign as UDA Deputy Party Leader following his ouster. He also warned Ruto against removing Gachagua’s allies from key government positions, labeling such moves as “childish.”
“You can’t have Gachagua remaining as deputy, and I think in time, he’ll resign from the party position. But sidelining his allies is part of what I call childish,” Manyora remarked.

Don’t Touch Nyoro – Manyora
Reflecting on the ouster of Ruto’s allies from the Jubilee Alliance Party, Manyora recalled how former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision backfired, as it was widely unpopular.
According to him, the Kenya Kwanza government is already facing backlash from Mount Kenya, and targeting Nyoro would only increase voter dissatisfaction.
He advised Ruto to avoid antagonizing Nyoro after handling the Gachagua issue.
ADVERT
“I don’t think they will touch Nyoro; it would create unnecessary animosity. You’re already struggling in the Mountain, so why add more anger? Nyoro isn’t widely popular, but if they go after him, he’ll become a hero. If it’s not a deliberate strategy, then they don’t know how to play politics,” Manyora concluded.

Ndindi Nyoro & Babu Owino Silence
Nyoro and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino were notable absentees during the vote on Gachagua’s impeachment. Both also missed the debate on the nomination of DP Kithure Kindiki, with Nyoro staying completely out of the matter.
Nyoro, who last posted on his social media on September 29, broke his silence on X with posts about Manchester United and Kenyatta University (KU).
“We are Manchester United, and we do what we want. We win when we want, draw when we want, and let other smaller teams win only when we want. We also discipline smaller teams only when we want. We are African, and Africa is our Business,” he wrote.
He also responded to reports that Kenyatta University overtook the University of Nairobi in recent rankings.
“Lanes, good people, lanes. Tuheshimu University Kubwa tafadhali. We are KU na ata tumetulia tu. Ata hatusemi kitu. We are African, and Africa is our Business,” he posted.
This translates to, “Lanes, good people, lanes. Let’s respect the big university, please. We are KU, and we’re just relaxed. We’re not even saying anything. We are African, and Africa is our business.”
On November 3, Babu Owino shared a photo on Facebook with Nyoro, sparking speculation about their potential plans.
