Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has sent a fresh message to President William Ruto after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua predicted that one political contender would eventually walk away as opposition leaders settle on a single presidential candidate.
Speaking on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the ACK Church in Bondo town, Siaya County, Kalonzo challenged Ruto to drop former President Uhuru Kenyatta and instead take him on in a decent, democratic contest.
“I want to advise my brother William Ruto because, at the end of the day, he is a brother in Christ, or so I believe. Now leave Uhuru and take on Kalonzo, but do it in a decent and democratic manner,” Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo Challenges Ruto
He added that if Ruto defeated them, they would have to consider whether he had conducted himself properly, while a victory by their side would also require them to examine where they stood because “we have a nation here.”
“If you defeat us, we may have to consider whether you have conducted yourself properly. If we defeat you, we will have to look at all these things and examine where we stand because we have a nation here.”
Kalonzo further called for a truly democratic Kenya, saying he did not believe there was a shortcut to achieving it.

Gachagua’s Bold 2027 Prediction
Rigathi Gachagua has predicted that one presidential candidate will eventually be selected ahead of the 2027 General Election, with another contender walking away.
Speaking in Dallas, Texas, Gachagua said the person who leaves would do so voluntarily, while the remaining candidate would secure more than 75% of the Kenyan vote.
Gachagua said he would remain part of the winning team, insisting he would not be the one to walk away from the political arrangement.
“I want to prophesy today, not because I’m a prophet, but based on experience, foresight, and understanding the Kenyan political scene, that history will repeat itself. One single presidential candidate will be announced. One person will go away. That one person will go away on his own. And a single presidential candidate will be elected by over 75% of the Kenyan vote,” he said.
He said he would stick with the arrangement agreed upon by the people of Kenya.

Gachagua Addresses Election Rigging Concerns
Gachagua also addressed concerns among Kenyans in the diaspora that President William Ruto could rig the 2027 elections.
He told his audience to remain calm, saying, “Nobody can steal a general election in Kenya.”
Also, Gachagua then recalled how he said election rigging occurred in the past, when ballot boxes were transported from polling stations to district headquarters for counting.
According to Gachagua, ballot boxes could be exchanged or swapped during transport, and lights could also be switched off during counting to facilitate changes.
