Arap Uria, a skit comedian has changed his mind on gifting renowned football commentator Peter Drury a goat.
Instead, the content creator has offered to hand the goat to the winner in a FKF Premier League match between AFC Leopards and Shabana FC.
On Friday, September 29, Uria posted an appeal requesting for facilitation to ship out a goat to Peter Drury in the United Kingdom.
However, his appeal attracted backlash from a section of social media users who expressed their disapproval of the appeal.
“Huyu mbuzi ameleta shida (This goat has caused me problems) I will now gift it to the winning team. Afc Leopards vs Shabana,” Uria stated.
Despite rising to global fame through his videos lip synching Drury’s football commentary, his appeal sparked an uproar from Kenyans who appeared not to fancy the move.
The bulk of comments to the post that garnered 1.4 million views on X criticized Uria over what they called lack of creativity.
For instance, a user named Daniel Maithya urged him to build on his publicity earned in the past to establish himself in the content creation sphere.

In addition, some users proposed alternative ways to make use of the goat instead of attempting to ship it out to the legendary pundit.
“Establish yourself with what you achieved through Drury brand and go slow on clout chasing,” the user noted.
“There you go again. Am not doing it, but I feel ashamed. He gave you a platform, now build yourself,” another user commented.
Uria Meets Drury
Uria broke to online fame after his skits gained international attention and even appeared in an interview at Supersport.
Subsequently, his videos reached Drury ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Doha, Qatar who acknowledged his admiration for Uria’s skits.

Moreover, Drury promised to meet the content creator in person, a dream that came true during the Qatar World Cup.
“I do love your work and I do hope one day we’ll get to meet each other face-to-face, and you can teach me how to commentate,” Drury responded to Uria’s skits.
