Nairobi United will host AS Maniema Union of the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, in a pivotal CAF Confederation Cup Group B clash on November 30, 2025.
Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM EAT, marking a historic moment as Kenya stages its first-ever home group-stage fixture in continental club competition.
The stakes are high for Nairobi United, debutants in the tournament, who are seeking redemption after a painful 3-0 defeat to Wydad Casablanca in Morocco on November 23.
The loss left the Naibois at the bottom of Group B, while AS Maniema Union sits second after a very impressive 2-0 victory over Azam FC from Tanzania.
Nairobi United are aiming for all three points as they face the Congolese outfit in order to keep their knockout hopes alive.
After Azam FC’s 1-0 loss to Moroccan Giants Wydad Casablanca, which was their second consecutive defeat, Nairobi United is looking to capitalize on the situation and finish the matchday above Azam.
Coach Nicholas Muyoti has stated that the team has reviewed their previous performance at the continental stage and remains optimistic.
“We shall recollect ourselves and see what happens in Nairobi against Maniema.”
Nairobi United’s Form
Nairobi United enters the match in strong domestic form, having recently beaten Kariobangi Sharks 4-2 and Bandari 3-1 in the Kenyan Premier League.
However, the defensive troubles Naibois began facing at the start of the season remain their biggest concern and have led to the team conceding in five consecutive matches across all competitions.
The squad features promising talents such as Kevin Otiende, praised for his remarkable Harambee Stars debut, and experienced players such as Shami Mwinyi and Lesley Owino, who anchor the midfield.
Enock Machaka, who impressed in the qualifiers, will be key to Nairobi United’s attacking transitions, as the team has recorded a good number of goals in high-stakes matches.
Group B currently sees Wydad Casablanca leading with three points and a superior goal difference, followed by Maniema Union on three points.
Nairobi United and Azam FC are yet to register a point.
Nairobi United and AS Maniema Union have never met before in any CAF competition.
AS Maniema Union
AS Maniema Union, coached by Papy Kimoto, arrives in Nairobi unbeaten in their last six CAF fixtures, including draws against Royal Leopards and Pamplemousses before their recent triumph over Azam.
