Principal Secretary (PS) Raymond Omollo for Internal Security has helped build a home for a widow who was living in a mud house.
Rose Obuya, a 38-year-old widow and mother of five, received a newly built, fully furnished house, offering her family a stable and dignified home after years of hardship.
Previously, she lived in a crumbling mud-walled structure and struggled to shield her children from the daily challenges of rain, cold, and insecurity.
Her life took a turn when she received a permanent home equipped with bedding, household items, and kitchen essentials.
PS Raymond Omollo Helps a Widow
The Widows Empowerment Program, under the leadership of Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, completely transformed Rose Obuya’s life when they identified her and showed empathy for her situation.
The widow from North Sakwa Ward, Awendo Constituency in Migori County, is finally giving her family a stable and dignified home after years of struggle and hardships.
The program is transforming rural lives under the mantra “one woman, one home, one future at a time”.

Kuja Widows Group
Rose is a member of Kuja Widows Group, a community-based group of widows in Awendo that has also received tailored support under the program.
The group has been empowered with poultry farming resources and catering equipment to support income generation during local functions ensuring that empowerment extends beyond individual homes and into sustainable, collective progress.

About the Widow Empowerment Program
The Widows’ Empowerment Program is committed to restoring hope, building resilience, and promoting self-reliance among widows.
Many of these women continue to face heightened vulnerability due to economic challenges, social isolation, legal barriers, and emotional strain.
Under the patronage of PS Raymond Omollo and the leadership of Program Director Victor Ayugi, the initiative has rolled out a range of socio-economic interventions across different regions in Kenya.
Moreover, the program takes a holistic approach, integrating economic empowerment, social support, legal assistance, mental health services, and community involvement.
