181,827 voters were registered in Taita Taveta County as of 2022, according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The county, located in southeastern Kenya, comprises four constituencies: Taveta, Wundanyi, Mwatate, and Voi.
Voi Constituency leads in voter registration with 61,377 voters, followed by Mwatate with 44,411.
Taveta registered 41,031 voters, while Wundanyi accounts for 35,008. The distribution showed Voi had the most populous constituency in terms of registered voters.
MPs per Constituency
The current Members of Parliament (MPs) for the four constituencies who were elected during the 2022 general election include John Bwire Okano of the Jubilee Party representing Taveta Constituency, and Danson Mwashako Mwakuwona of the Wiper Democratic Movement who serves Wundanyi.
Mwatate is represented by Peter Shake Mbogho of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), and Voi’s MP Abdi Tepo Chome, also of ODM.

In addition to the constituency representatives, Taita Taveta’s Women Representative is Lydia Haika Mnene Mizighi.
On the other hand, the county government is headed by Governor Andrew Mwadime, with Johnes Mwashushe Mwaruma serving as the Senator.

Linguistically, the Taita community speaks a variety of languages such as Mbololo, Bura, Wusi, Kidaya, Mghange, Chawia, Mwanda, Kishamba, Werugha, Wumingu, and Wundanyi.
