The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has released a five-day weather forecast for the period between Saturday, March 29, and Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
In its forecast, Kenya Met predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of the country. However, rainfall is expected to reduce in intensity and spread across the country from Monday, March 31.

The weatherman stated that occasional isolated rainfall is expected over several parts of the country towards the beginning of the forecast period.
These regions include the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, and the Highlands East of the Rift Valley (Nairobi and its environs).

In the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, rainfall, showers, and thunderstorms are expected on Saturday, March 29, over a few places, especially in the morning.
As per the forecast, counties in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley are likely to experience showers and thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon and later at night.

Counties in the named regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot.
Later on Sunday, these regions are expected to receive rain over few places in the morning and later experience showers and thunderstorms over several places in the afternoon.
The weather patterns are, however, expected to change from Monday- as the weather department predicts sunny intervals in the mornings of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Coastal regions
The Coastal counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, as well as the coastal parts of Tana River, are expected to experience day-long sunny intervals towards the end of the forecast.
Kenya Met said that some areas will experience morning and afternoon showers from Saturday and Sunday. Nights are expected to be partly cloudy and showers from Monday to Wednesday.
The average maximum daytime temperature is expected to rise to 36°C, while the minimum nighttime temperature will be as low as 23°C.

South-Eastern Parts
In the South-eastern lowlands covering Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana-River County, Kenya Met predicts that the regions are expected to experience rains, showers, and thunderstorms from Saturday to Sunday.
However, the counties in this region will receive Sunny intervals during the day and at night from Monday and Wednesday.
The average maximum daytime temperature is expected to rise to 36°C, while the minimum nighttime temperature will be as low as 15°C.

Other regions
At the same time, Kenya Met said that rains alternating with showers and thunderstorms conditions are expected during the day in Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo, Turkana, and Samburu counties.
However, the counties could experience partly cloudy and showers weather in several places during the day, afternoon and night with a maximum temperature of 40°C and a minimum of 17°C.
Additionally, they will experience partly cloudy nights from Monday to Wednesday.
Showers and thunderstorms in a few places are also expected in parts of Northwestern Kenya (Turkana and Samburu counties), alternating with a sunny interval on Wednesday.
However, from Monday to Wednesday, they will experience partly cloudy nights.
