Several regions across the country will continue to experience rainfall starting Saturday, April 5, 2025, with some areas expected to receive heavy downpours, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD). Kenya Met in its latest five-day weather forecast for the period between April 5 and Tuesday, April 9, KMD indicated that rainfall is expected to persist over several parts of the country.
The weatherman predicted increased rainfall activity in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley.

Counties in these regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot.
These areas will experience showers and thunderstorms in several places, particularly in the afternoon. Showers are also expected in several places during the evening.

The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi County, will also experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
Other affected regions include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka counties.

At the same time, the weatherman predicted that the Northeastern region, comprising Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties, will receive showers and thunderstorms in a few places during the first two days of the forecast.
For the remaining three days, weather conditions will vary between a chance of showers in a few places and sunny intervals.
The Southeastern Lowlands, comprising Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County, will receive heavy rains for the first three days of the forecast.
For the last two days, there will be a chance of showers in a few places.
According to Kenya Met, the coastal counties, including Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, as well as the coastal parts of Tana River, will experience showers over several places or a chance of showers in several places.

Temperatures Forecast
In the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Kenya Meteorological Department has cautioned that temperatures will vary significantly, with minimum temperatures dropping to 10°C and maximum daytime temperatures reaching up to 32°C.
Meanwhile maximum temperatures in the Highlands of East of Rift Valley are expected to reach around 29°C while the minimum temperatures will range between 10°C- 12°C.
Along the coastal counties, daytime temperatures are forecasted to rise to 35°C, while night-time temperatures could drop to 23°C.
In the South-Eastern Lowlands, daytime temperatures are expected to reach 35°C, while nighttime lows may fall to 15°C.
Night-time temperatures in the Northeastern area will range between 16°C and 18°C, while daytime temperatures will be between 37°C and 39°C.
