The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has released a seven-day weather forecast for the week starting October 1 to October 8.
According to the forecast, Kenyans across the country should prepare for rainfall and a continuation of the cold season during this period.
Kenya Met in the forecast noted that rainfall is expected in parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Rift Valley, and Lake Victoria Basin.
However, the rest of the country is likely to remain sunny and dry.
High daytime temperatures (above 30°C) are forecast in the South Rift, Coast, South-eastern lowlands, Western, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya.
Kenya Met List Regions to Experience Low Temperatures
At the same period, Kenyans in parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and South-eastern lowlands should expect low night-time temperatures (below 10°C).
Residents in these areas should prepare for wet conditions and chilly temperatures as the cold season persists.
The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley will experience sunny intervals in the mornings, but a few areas may receive light rain.
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur over a few places occasionally spreading to several places while the nights are expected to be partly cloudy though showers may occur over a few places.

These areas include Kisii, Nyamira, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Busia, Migori, Narok, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet and West-Pokot Counties.
In Turkana and Samburu, sunny intervals are expected during the day while nights are likely to be partly cloudy. However, morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms may occur over a few places during the first half of the forecast period.
Other Weeks Forecasts
The Highlands East of the Rift Valley (Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi Counties): will experience intermittent cloudiness, with a possibility of light rains is expected in the mornings giving way to sunny intervals.
Afternoon and night showers are likely to occur over several places during the first half of the forecast period reducing to a few places thereafter.

In the southeastern lowlands, which include Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta Counties, sunny intervals are expected during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night. There is a chance of morning rains and afternoon showers in a few areas.
Along the Coast, covering Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties, morning, afternoon, and night showers are expected in some areas during the second half of the forecast period.
