Russia has sustained further losses in its war in Ukraine, according to the latest battlefield estimates released on January 29.
Total troop losses are estimated at approximately 1,237,400, with 830 additional personnel reported over the past day; these figures remain subject to confirmation.
Equipment losses recorded as of January 29 include 435 aircraft and 347 helicopters, with one additional aircraft lost and no new helicopter losses reported. Russia is also estimated to have lost 11,613 tanks, up four, and 23,965 armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs), with seven more added to the tally.
Other losses include 36,733 artillery systems (+20), 1,629 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 1,288 anti-aircraft warfare systems (+2), and 4,053 units of special equipment.
Logistics and strike capabilities have also been hit, with 76,190 vehicles and fuel tanks destroyed (+88), 4,205 cruise missiles, and 118,679 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including 955 additional drones reported in the latest update.
Naval losses stand at 28 warships and boats, with one submarine lost since the start of the conflict.
Ukraine Losses As Russia Launches Missiles
On January 28, Russian forces launched missile and drone attacks on several Ukrainian regions, including Kyiv and surrounding areas, according to local authorities.
The strikes killed and injured civilians in multiple cities, caused widespread power outages, and damaged infrastructure, including a monastery in Odesa.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia fired one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 146 drones during the overnight assault.
Air defence units intercepted 103 drones, but at least 36 drones and the missile penetrated defences, striking 22 locations across the country.
Two people were killed in Bilohorodka, a community on the outskirts of Kyiv.
Kyiv Oblast Governor Mykola Kalashnyk said several others were treated by paramedics but did not need to be hospitalized.

One of the victims, a mother, was at home with her 4-year-old child when their apartment was hit, Hromadske reported.
Additionally, Russian strikes hit residential areas in Zaporizhzhia, leaving at least six people injured, Governor Ivan Fedorov reported.
The attacks also damaged 14 apartment buildings and around 20 vehicles.
The Holy Dormition Monastery in Odesa was also hit during the attack, the Odesa Diocese reported. Russian drones reportedly struck the monastery grounds on three separate occasions.

Electricity Crisis in Ukraine
Currently, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that more than half a million people in Kyiv remain without electricity.
Ukraine’s allies have been sending generators to help the country cope with the outages. Sixteen partner countries have contributed, with Ukraine already receiving 437 generators from the European Union and Japan.
The country is expected to receive more than 500 generators and over 50 power transformers from international partners, according to Shmyhal.
