Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has accused the Principal Secretary of Internal Security, Raymond Omollo, of orchestrating chaos in Migori County.
The statement comes following a series of troubling incidents in the region, where according to ODM, state power is allegedly being used to destabilize ODM-run counties and constituencies.
According to the statement, a meeting of the party’s Central Committee with elected leaders from Migori and Kisii revealed a concerted effort to use state resources to undermine ODM strongholds.
The attendees included Governor Ochilo Ayacko, Woman Representative Hon. Fatuma Mohamed, Senator Eddy Oketch, and various Members of Parliament hailing from Migori county.
Specific incidents cited in the statement include the firing of tear gas at mourners in Migori, allegedly at the direction of Uriri MP Mark Nyamita, who was absent from the meeting.
ODM Disowns Nyamita
ODM further disassociated itself from Nyamita, accusing him of being an agent of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and actively working against the party’s interests.
“At this stage, the Party wishes to dissociate itself from Hon. Nyamita fully,”
“We have granted his wish to no longer be part of us and advise our members in Uriri and Migori generally that he is an agent of UDA with the assigned task of sowing confusion and discord within ODM. Hon Nyamita does not speak for nor represent the Party at any level, and we advise our members to view and treat him and all those who support him accordingly,” reads ODM statement in part.
Additionally, the ODM statement highlighted instances of harassment and intimidation of its leaders and supporters in Kisii County by the police and provincial administration.

The party attributes these actions to a “mastermind” they claim is PS Raymond Omollo.
“The master puppeteer behind these schemes has been identified as none other than the PS for Internal Security Raymond Omollo,” said ODM.
ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna condemned what he described as the “blatant abuse of Police and State power” to intimidate ODM supporters and bolster regime-aligned individuals in the party strongholds.
ODM to Lodge Formal Complaints
The party intends to lodge formal complaints with relevant authorities and has called upon its Parliamentary Group to summon the CS for Education and his Tourism and Wildlife counterpart to address concerns regarding employment opportunities and hiring policies.
“We will lodge formal complaints to the relevant authorities in the next few days,”

“We have also asked members of our Parliamentary Group (PG) to summon the CS for Education and his Tourism and Wildlife counterpart Dr. Alfred Mutua to explain the hiring policy at the TSC, KWS, and other government departments and how Kenyans who do not support UDA can also access employment opportunities” noted ODM.
Consequently, ODM urged their supporters to remain vigilant and smell out nefarious schemes by the regime and its stooges who they claim hide amongst them.
