Detectives are probing the death of a city businessman identified as Somesh Ramesh whose body was discovered on Sunday, May 12, in Nairobi’s Nyari area.
The late Ramesh, detectives said, had left his home in Spring Valley on Saturday night after reportedly receiving a phone call from unknown people.
His body would later be found inside his vehicle, a Lexus V8 SUV, that had been plunged into a ditch in what is believed to be an attempt to stage an accident.
According to police reports, Nyari security guards discovered his lifeless body with three stab wounds which led to the conclusion that the deceased could have been killed elsewhere and later brought to the scene.

Ramesh was involved in landscaping business in the city, according to the Police reports.
No details about the identity of his alleged mysterious caller or his last meeting were divulged to the public by the time of this publication.

According to the detectives probing the case, Ramesh was placed on the driver’s seat before the vehicle was plunged into the ditch.
In addition, the culprits were also said to have attempted burning the vehicle to complicate the investigations into the case.

Meanwhile, detectives have commenced investigations focusing on various aspects including interrogation of the deceased’s last engagements as they labor to connect dots in the mysterious murder case.
The death of the Indian businessman now adds to a string of recent mysterious deaths that have been reported in the city in the recent past.
On Thursday, May 9, police confirmed the death of Ohangla dancer Sheila Odoyo, also known by her stage name Wegesha, whose body was discovered inside her matrimonial home in Athi River.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) identified Wegesha’s husband as a suspect in the case after preliminary investigations revealed how he left his home in the wee hours of Thursday.

In addition, police discovered his vehicle and raced his last phone signal to Narok as he is believed to have traveled upcountry amid to escape the detectives’ dragnet.
Elsewhere in Thika, Kiambu County, a family was left in shock after the death of its daughter, a Mount Kenya University student.
