Two lorries were involved in an accident on December 25, 2024, at Mau Narok, Mwisho wa Lami area. The Kenya Red Cross reported that 40 individuals were injured in the collision.
Emergency response teams, including the Kenya Police, Red Cross Action Teams, the County Government Ambulance Service, and Emergency Kenya Services, arrived swiftly at the scene to manage the situation.
These teams successfully evacuated all injured parties to Nakuru Provincial Hospital, where some victims were reported to be in critical condition.
According to updates from the Kenya Red Cross, the accident site has been cleared. Further details regarding the cause of the accident, the condition of the injured, and any potential fatalities have yet to be released as investigations continue.
Road accident at Mau Narok Highway along Mwisho wa Lami
This incident came amid a rise in road accidents during the festive season.
On Monday, December 23, a tragic accident happened at Matauro in the Duka Moja area along the Narok-Suswa-Mai Mahiu highway in Narok County, involving multiple vehicles.
At least eight people were confirmed dead following this incident.
Witnesses reported that one of the accidents occurred around mid-morning on Monday, December 23, with preliminary reports indicating that a lorry driver lost control, colliding with multiple vehicles.

A police statement indicated that the crash involved six vehicles and a motorcycle. The incident occurred after a trailer, which was being driven from Narok to Mai Mahiu, suffered a tyre burst.
The driver lost control, causing the trailer to strike a Toyota Premio car, an Ena coach bus, and a Narok line matatu, scattering them to different sides of the road and leaving three occupants of the matatu dead at the scene.
