Joseph Mwenda popularly known as DJ Joe Mfalme has issued a public statement on his arrest in connection with the death of a Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer.
In the Sunday, March 24 statement, DJ Joe solely addressed the recent developments surrounding the regrettable incident surrounding his arrest.

“First and foremost, we express our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and all those impacted by this unfortunate incident,” read the statement.
The DJ said his team has been in close collaboration with the investigative agencies since the occurrence of the incident.

“DJ Joe Mfalme and his team are fully committed to participating in the investigative procedure and will continue to extend their cooperation as may be required,” added the statement.
DJ Joe Mfalme on the Case
DJ Joe Mfalme maintained that his team condoles with the bereaved family and friends of Felix Kelian Kitosi, the police officer allegedly assaulted to death.

He said his team trusts that the investigative agencies will unearth the truth behind the officer’s death.
The DJ further explained that he will not comment on the matter going forward due to the sensitivity of the issue.
“We place our trust in God Almighty in particular and the authorities in general to conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation aimed at uncovering the truth,” DJ Joe Mfalme said.
“Given the ongoing investigations and the sensitive nature of the matter, we shall refrain from making any further statements at this time.”
He went ahead to thank his fans for their unwavering understanding and support amid the accusations.
Additionally, he said his team will provide updates once the investigations are complete.

DJ Arrested With 3 Officers in Connection with the Murder
DJ Joe Mfalme was arrested alongside three police officers from Kikuyu police station on March 23 for allegedly assaulting the DCI officer to death.
It is alleged that the DJ and his team committed the crime on the night of March 16, 2024, at a parking lot in Texas Barbeque in Kikuyu Sub-County.
Reports showed that the incident happened after DJ Joe Mfalme had finished performing and was leaving the club at around 4: 20 am.

According to reports, the officer was leaving the parking lot when he scratched a car belonging to the DJ.
Afterwards, the bouncers allegedly confronted and pulled him out of the car and assaulted him.
He was then taken to Kikuyu police station where the three accused police officers assaulted him further.
The officer was rushed to Langata Hospital on March 16 when his health condition worsened, before being referred to Nairobi West Hospital where he died on March 21.
The hospital report revealed that the officer was admitted with severe abdominal pain due to assault and was unable to pass urine for about four hours before he died.
