A Guardian Angel bus overturned at the Kimende area along the Nairobi–Naivasha highway on January 6.
The bus was ferrying students on their way back to school on January 6.
Photos obtained by The Kenya Times showed the passenger bus lying on its side, with its underside and windows exposed, after overturning off the road.
Students who managed to escape the bus stood beside the overturned vehicle, looking stranded.
No fatalities have been reported, but 10 students have been injured. Parents whose children are traveling on Guardian Angel buses were urged to contact the company to confirm their safety.
Earlier, six people were reported dead after a road accident near Fort Ternan along the Londian-Muhoroni road.
The accident happened on Tuesday, January 6, in the morning, after a Uwezo bus travelling to Busia rammed into a truck.
Photos of the accident seen by The Kenya Times showed the bus damaged in the front end after it rammed into the rear of the truck.

The accident comes after Cabinet Secretary for Transport Davis Chirchir urged all Kenyans to prioritize children’s road safety.
Motorists were advised to slow down near schools, obey traffic rules, ensure vehicles are roadworthy, and avoid overloading.
Additionally, he called on drivers to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, with brakes, lights, tyres, and mirrors in good condition.
In his address, the CS stated that vehicles carrying school children should not be overloaded.

He further advised parents and guardians to choose safe, compliant transport for their children and to teach them the basics of road safety.
“As our schools reopen for the new term, I urge every Kenyan to join hands in ensuring the safety of our children on the roads. With thousands of students returning to school across the country, our roads will experience a surge in traffic,” he said.
“The safety of our children is everyone’s responsibility. Let us uphold our traffic laws, be mindful of one another, and ensure that every learner arrives safely at school and returns home at the end of the day.”

At the same time, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) stated that private motorists, public transport operators, school administrators, and parents or guardians share a responsibility in safeguarding children during this busy period.
On December 30, the authority urged road users to comply with traffic rules strictly, plan journeys carefully, and avoid night travel due to reduced visibility.
The authority reminded vehicle owners to ensure that vehicles used for transporting children are roadworthy, properly maintained, fully licensed, and insured, including valid road service licenses and inspection certificates.
NTSA noted that previous inspections had revealed defects in school transport vehicles, including faulty or non-transmitting speed limiters, defective brakes, missing or faulty seat belts, unstable seats, and malfunctioning door locks.
