President William Ruto has appointed a committee to review the new university funding model.
The committee comprises of four workstreams or sub-committees that will review the Structure of Student Loans among other responsibilities.
The Chairpersons and Co-Chairpersons of the workstreams shall constitute the coordination Board of the Committee for the New University Education Funding Model.
Professor Japheth Micheni Ntiba has been appointed the Chairperson of the board, with members including the chairpersons and co-chairpersons of the four workstreams.
First Workstream
Professor Karuti Kanyinga has been appointed Chairperson of the first workstreams and Dibora Zainab Hirbo the Co-Chair.
The Workstream will deal with the review and refinement of the new funding model for universities and Technical, Vocational Education and Training Institutions (TVETS).
Members of the workstream include Mogesi R Maroa, Vincent Tarus, Ignatius Kiptoo Ruto, Tracey Nyaboe Morara, Ubah Abdi Hussein, Felix Ochieng.
Other members inclue Ferdinand Awuonda, Philip Nyayo Ivutha, Abdikassim Mohamed, Phostine Wandera, Fidel Wandiga, Solomon Ndundi Alfred, Elizabeth Waigwe Wanjiku, Faith Wanjiku Kamau, Ruth Mwikali Mwangangi.
Also, Stephen Odebero, Kibibi Ndope, Jared Osoro, Constantine Wasonga Opiyo, Emmanuel Manyasa, Caroline Waithera, Richard Kipkoech, Jared Ongaro, Eunice Kigen, Martin Muluka, Nicholas Wasonga Orago, Paul Waweru, Joseph Rotich, Syrus Mutuku, Peter Alingo are members of the workstream.

Ruto Appoints Members of Workstream 2
The second workstream will deal with appeals arising from the categorization of students into various eligibility bands for allocation of Scholarships and Loans.
Walubengo Waningilo has been appointed chairperson while Lucy Machugu has been appointed the Co-Chair.
Members include Ronald K. Cheruiyot, Elisha Ochieng Oyugi, Raphael Oguk, Ramesh Saxena, Gorffly Mokua. Evans Kipkorir Serem, Gitonga Gichangi, Calvin Juma, David Kisindai, Harrison Nganga Muiruri.
Ruth Wamuhu Njiu, Wainaina Gichere, Loyan Kimanthi Micheni, Samuel Jackinda Obilo, James Magoka, Emily Ntinyari, Moses Ambani, Josiah Munene, Martin Oleche, Joyce Mutinda, Romanus Odhiambo, Michael Kibet Kibiriti, Khaemba Ongeti, Wangeci Catherine and Phylis Mutua.
The Joint Secretaries include Moses Njeru Mbaruku and Jemima Onsare while the secretariat includes Diana Mutisya and Alex Kibet.
Workstream 3
The Third workstream will deal with the Structure of Student Loans.
Robert Oduor Otieno has been appointed its chairperson and Aron Kiprotich Bett its Co-Chair.
Members of the workstream include Nabangi Alex Wanyonyi, Pascal Juma, Bill Clinton, Fatuma Boku Marsa, Kipkorir Brian, Bonface Ododa, Boaz Gori Onserio, Erick Ochieng.
Dismas Kiptoo, Paul Wathuta Kiragu, Joseph Tioko, Ohanga Grace Wangare, Salome Thinguri, Jane Nyagaturi Mbatia, Bernard Kiprono, Arnold Munene Njoka, Grace Chitayi Nyongesa and Charles Njoroge Mbau.
The Joint Secretaries for the workstream are Margaret Campbell and Allan Chacha, while the secretariat includes Darius Mogaka and Kingori Ndegwa.

Workstream 4
The fourth Workstream will deal with the Review of the Cost of University Academic Programs.
Its chairperson will be Professor Mohamed S. Rajab while Patrick Malanga has been appointed Co-Chair.
Members of the workstream include Rehema Josphine, Melodie Wairimu. Vincent Kipkorir, Evanson Muchanga, Oketch Solomon, Francis Omondi, Don Ochieng, Elvis Odiwour. Njoroge Wanjohi, Stephen Kabiri, Maureen Cherono.
Philomena Nthenya, Mutethia Stephen Isaiah, Abed Mureithi, Okech Abagi. Janet Ouko, Samuel Nthenge. John Mutinda Mutiso, Charles Mukwaya, David Njoroge, Daniel Mugendi, Farhiya Jehon Ali, Henry Mutembei.
Also, Robison Kigen, John Njera, Jennifer Chebet. Denis Mwiti Kaburu. Rosemary Bowen, Carren Agengo, Gerald Ouma, Isaac Litali have been appointed as members.
Moreover, the Joint Secretaries include Tiberius Barasa and Clarise Osore, while the secretariats are Geoffrey Monari and Emmanuel Abook.
