Standard Chartered Bank Kenya has updated its individual account tariffs detailing the charges customers will pay across key everyday banking services.
The revised schedule, which takes effect in December 2025, outlines fees on mobile money transfers, credit cards, bundled accounts, cheque services and salary processing, among other services.
Bank to M-Pesa, Airtel Money, and T-Kash transfers
Customers transferring money from their Standard Chartered bank accounts to mobile money wallets will be charged based on the transaction amount. Transfers of Ksh0 to Ksh100 are free.
Transfers of Ksh101 to Ksh500 cost Ksh11, while amounts between Ksh501 and Ksh1,000 attract a charge of Ksh15. For transfers of Ksh1,001 to Ksh1,500, customers will pay Ksh18.
Transfers between Ksh1,501 and Ksh2,500 attract a fee of Ksh25, while those ranging from Ksh2,501 to Ksh3,500 cost Ksh35.
Amounts of Ksh3,501 to Ksh5,000 are charged Ksh47, Ksh5,001 to Ksh7,500 cost Ksh57, and transfers of Ksh7,501 to Ksh20,000 attract a charge of Ksh67. Higher-value transfers between Ksh20,001 and Ksh250,000 are charged Ksh70.
Annual fees for credit cards
Customers holding Standard Chartered credit cards will pay annual fees depending on the card tier. The Gold credit card attracts an annual fee of Ksh6,000. The Platinum credit card is charged at Ksh7,000 per year, while the Infinite credit card carries an annual fee of Ksh8,000.
Other card-related charges include a late payment fee of Ksh1,500, an over-limit fee of Ksh2,000, a supplementary card fee of Ksh1,000, and a card replacement fee of Ksh1,000. Cash advances attract a charge of 5 per cent of the transaction amount, while international point-of-sale or cash advance transactions attract a 3 per cent charge.
Easy Banking Bundle Current Account
Customers subscribed to the Easy Banking Bundle Current Account will pay a monthly service fee of Ksh 499. The account requires an opening balance of Ksh2,000 and has no minimum operating balance.
The bundle combines a salary account with a credit card and includes unlimited standing orders between Standard Chartered accounts, unlimited local and foreign telegraphic transfers, and free ATM withdrawals at all VISA-branded ATMs in Kenya.
Customers also receive one free international debit card, one free local and one free foreign currency banker’s cheque per month, free e-statements and one free cheque book of 30 leaves.
Customers withdrawing cash at Standard Chartered bank branches will pay Ksh500 per over-the-counter transaction on ordinary current accounts.
This charge applies to branch-based cash withdrawals and affects customers who prefer or rely on teller services instead of ATMs or digital channels. The fee is charged per withdrawal, regardless of the amount withdrawn.
Local currency cheques
Customers using local currency cheque services will pay Ksh450 for a cheque book of 30 leaves and Ksh900 for a cheque book of 100 leaves.
A cheque returned after being drawn by the bank attracts a charge of Ksh3,850, while cheques marked “effects not cleared” attract a fee of Ksh3,400.

Cheques returned for technical reasons incur a Ksh350 fee. Inward unpaid cheques are charged Ksh1,000, while a counter cheque issued to a customer costs Ksh500.
A stop payment notice attracts a fee of Ksh1,000, and retrieving an old cheque costs Ksh500 per cheque leaf. Non-compliant CTS cheques also incur a Ksh500 charge.
Debit card transactions and ATM use
Customers using debit cards will not be charged for card renewal, while issuance of a debit card attracts a fee of Ksh500. Replacing a lost or damaged debit card also costs Ksh500.
Withdrawals at Standard Chartered ATMs incur a charge of Ksh40 per transaction, while withdrawals at non-Standard Chartered ATMs incur a charge of Ksh250 per transaction. International ATM withdrawals incur a charge of Ksh95 per withdrawal.
Statements, inquiries, account records, and salary processing charges
Accessing statements and balances via ATMs or the call centre is free. Account closure and balance enquiries over the counter are also free.

Customers requesting duplicate paper statements will pay Ksh250, while paper statements sent by post attract a fee of Ksh50 per statement. Electronic statements remain free.
Electronic salary processing is charged at Ksh150, while manual salary processing attracts a fee of Ksh500.
Other charges
The updated tariff also lists charges for other banking services, including account maintenance, cash handling, funds transfers, standing orders, overdrafts, personal loans, foreign exchange transactions, drafts, and international money transfers. These charges vary depending on account type, transaction channel, and currency.
