The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Hajji now wants a murder case against Gender cabinet secretary nominee Aisha Jumwa settled outside court.
Hajji has already made an application to that effect.
Through Senior Assistant prosecutor, Vivian Kambuga,Hajji says Jumwa desires to have the matter settled outside court.
The former Malindi MP argues that she was not the principal suspect in the matter.
“There are ongoing negotiations with the victim’s family, to have the matter settled outside court in relation to the second suspect,” Kambuga said.

Kambuga informed Mombasa high court judge, Anne Onginjo that the family of the deceased was now seeking to be compensated for the death of their kin.
Jumwa through her lawyer told the court that immediate family members of Ngumbao Jola had expressed interest to have the charge sheet reviewed and her name struck out.
Jumwa had been charged alongside, her aide Geoffrey Okuto with the murder of a man in the chaos that erupted during the Ganda Ward by-election.
She is facing charges of killing 48-year-old Ngumbao Jola on October 15, 2021, when chaos broke out during the by-election.
Several other people, including police officers, were injured in the chaos.
The matter will be mentioned on, October 26.
