Azimio la Umoja One Kenya supporters in Kisumu vandalized UDA offices in the county during the demonstrations over the high cost of living among other complaints by the opposition.
Moreover, two vehicles were torched, several items stolen, and properties of unknown value destroyed during the demonstrations.
The Chairman UDA Kisumu County Mr. Eric Osenya reported that they were held hostage by the protestors who stormed the premises.
Osenya noted that they locked themselves in the offices for a while as protesters pelted stones at the offices.
He further stated that they were able to escape the scene and hide in the nearby hotels when the protesters dispersed to regroup.
“When we got out, they came in and vandalized everything. They took all the computers, laptops, cameras, seats, and curtains,” he said.
